My Story

My career and love for Psychology began at the University of Vermont in 2007.  For two and half years I was a Research Assistant in a PTSD, Generalized Anxiety, and Smoking Cessation Laboratory on my way to obtaining a Bachelor’s in Psychology.  After this I achieved my Master's Degree in Social Work at Case Western Reserve University in 2010.  Through the course of my professional career I have worked at three inpatient psychiatric units, as a liaison for Early Intervention Services in Cleveland, as a Case Worker in a hospital of downtown Colorado Springs, as a Psychiatric Evaluator in the Emergency Department of Colorado Springs, and most recently as an Individual Therapist in the private practice realm in Albuquerque.

Working with people to figure out their difficulties in life, with their mental health, or situations that are challenging is something I am passionate about.  As an individual therapist I try to create an environment in which someone can feel comfortable to express their challenges, and work towards a goal oriented future.  It has always been a great pleasure of mine to be there for someone, providing a different perspective to assist them in their growth.

When I am not working you can usually find me rock climbing, hiking, camping with friends, or reading psychology articles.  I enjoy taking road trips around the USA, finding good places to climb and meeting interesting people along the way.  In the past I have struggled with anxiety and depression, something that took a lot of effort to move on from, and it takes daily awareness to maintain a balanced mindset.  This experience allows me to relate to a lot of persons, as life can be very challenging, shifting focus is something I can assist people with as a way to find happiness and confidence within their circumstances.
